Just once, I’d like to see us all agree on something. Anything. Like, “Yes, I agree, drinking water IS good for you.” And then we’d all chug a glass of water together and be like, “Ahhhh.”
Over the past few years, I’ve been told by several people in various situations, that I have a “calming effect” on them. It always makes me laugh because I know my mind and “calm” is not necessarily the right description. The calm before the storm, maybe.
Usually, I just write it off to the fact that I’m soft-spoken, polite, (you know, just your basic ‘decent human being’ stuff which has become something of a lost art.) But tonight it happened again, a stranger I interacted with who started off by saying they had had a “long day”, later randomly mentioned this calming effect again.
It got me thinking, maybe I should stop ignoring these little messages from the universe and start using my calming superpowers for the greater good. I have a feeling the world could use some calming energy right about now and in the years ahead. Not sure what that means for me exactly, but I think I’m open to finding out.
When I wrote this on social media, someone commented: “It’s the balancing your being brings.. most people just don’t know what to call it.” It helped me to fine-tune this thing because I realized they were right.
In these moments, it’s usually me just “being” and the other person allowing themselves to share this space with me till we find some kind of balance. In tonight’s case we were forced to occupy the same space for a while so they had to adjust. In extreme situations, when people are way off to the other edge of the stress spectrum, my so-called calming energy can sometimes be overwhelming for them and they resist it even more. In those cases there is just no possibility for balance.
Anyway, that’s it. Namaste, bitches. (This calming thing comes and goes.)
Whoever invented ‘one size fits all’ clothing really needs to eat a cookie or something.
My doc: You don’t look 35.
Me: I don’t feel 35.
Her: You look 10 years younger at least.
Me: That’s pretty much how i feel.
Her: That’s good. Keep living like that. Feel young and enjoy life.
Me: That’s the plan. :)
Research shows that more people die from stroke or heart attack between 9 am and 11 am on Monday morning than at any other time in the week, the direct result of work-related psychological and physical factors which lead to a significant effect of stress during this time.
Hint: If you’d rather die than go to work, you may be in the wrong line of business.
If you haven’t heard of this yet, TROM is a 13 hour long documentary (yep, 13 hours) that discusses everything from the big bang to the current state of humanity, and everything else in between (religion, education, science, war, health, UFO’s, death… the list goes on and on.) Once you’ve gotten the bigger picture, it focuses on alternative solutions such as the Venus Project. Good stuff, worth a look!
“Grounded” is an independent feature film about what is considered by many authorities to be “The Greatest Health RE-discovery of All Time”. The concept was tested on the people of Haines, Alaska ,
I love this documentary. Ever since I saw it I make way more of a conscious effort to go barefoot, lay on the grass, etc. Animals know to stay connected to the Earth and understand it’s natural healing qualities. It’s only us humans who go out of our way to separate ourselves with floors, carpets, shoes, socks, not to mention building our homes and offices higher and higher above the ground.
My nephew was born with a mission to invent a pill that prevents people from aging and dying. He’s been talking about it ever since he could speak. <3
As long as you people keep popping out babies, you should at least know that there are other options out there to make childbirth a positive and pleasurable experience. ;)
Schools in SF that adopted a mandatory ‘Quiet Time’ (“Twice daily, a gong sounds in the classroom and rowdy adolescents, who normally can’t sit still for 10 seconds, shut their eyes and try to clear their minds”) saw dramatic changes in everything: grades improved, suspensions fell, crimes reduced, children were happier.. all that good stuff we already know and society is starting to understand.
I prayed for change, so I changed my mind. I prayed for guidance and learned to trust myself. I prayed for happiness and realized I am not my ego. I prayed for peace and learned to accept others unconditionally. I prayed for abundance and realized my doubt kept it out. I prayed for wealth and realized it is my health. I prayed for a miracle and realized I am the miracle. I prayed for a soul mate and realized I am the One. I prayed for love and realized it’s always knocking, but I have to allow it in.”

“Every cell in the body is programmed to work collaboratively with every other cell, so together they can promote the healthy functioning of the organ they’re part of. You and I are the same; we’re programmed to work collaboratively with each other in order to promote the healthy functioning of civilization. But just as a cancer cell is a cell that goes insane, disconnecting from its natural programming and going off to do its own thing instead, so a malignant consciousness has come to dominate the human race, luring us into self-centered and competitive rather than collaborative attitudes toward each other. The body can heal though, and so can a civilization. Cells, and people, can remember who they really are and why they’re really here. Then all is well.”

Notice how when you get hurt or feel pain, you instantly and intuitively put your hand on the area. This is because your hands have healing powers. You already know this on a subconscious level; now all that’s left is becoming consciously aware of it.
Somebody has been waiting their entire career to make this a headline.
What’s the point of finding a “cure” for cancer or any other disease if we continue living the same lifestyles and thinking the same thoughts that caused the disease (dis-ease) in the first place?
If we spent half as much time and energy on slowing down, breathing deep, doing what we love, nurturing our bodies, eating high vibrational foods, meditating, speaking from the heart, drinking lots of water, feeling good and loving ourselves in mind, body and soul, we would eventually “cure” all dis-ease anyway. It would simply become a non-issue.

This is hanging in the shower of the place we’re currently staying at on our trip to California. As much as it may sound like hippie BS, it actually feels great reading it to yourself while showering. :)
EDIT: So great, in fact, that I actually decided to sell a printable version of this affirmation on my Etsy shop.
Don’t be misled by the New-Agey title… Raising your frequency is serious business.
By the way, this is the first video that introduced me to Teal Swan’s teachings. I’ve been officially hooked ever since.
